Vanja Ramanandraitsiory

Vanja is a partner at John W Ffooks, where he co-heads its Natural Resources and Banking teams. His specialisations include project finance, restructurings, joint ventures, mergers and acquisitions, banking law, oil & gas and mining, and listing and financing, and energy infrastructure projects. Vanja advises a variety of local and international upstream oil and gas, mining, and energy companies with assets in Francophone Africa as well as finance houses with extensive investments in the region. In particular he has helped clients understand the various security packages available to them in order to protect their investments and realise their return in the most useful way possible as well as helping them navigate the regional Central Bank rules regarding repatriation of foreign exchange. Vanja has advised on several large projects where the Government was the counterparty, and he is familiar with the issues most frequently encountered in commercial negotiations. He also advises clients on corporate transactions and reorganisations. Vanja is ranked in Band 2 by Chambers Global for his oil and gas and energy developments, as well as for his project finance practice. He read Law at the University of Antananarivo and obtained a Master of Business Law from the University of Antananarivo. He also holds a Master of Finance and accounting from the Institut Universitaire de Madagascar. Vanja is fluent in French and English.
