Corporate and employment advice in multiple Francophone African countries
We acted for a Washington DC law firm on behalf of a leading NGO in the health sector by analysing the legislation across multiple jurisdictions relating to the setting up, running and closing of branch offices for a US-based NGO. We highlighted all legislation where NGOs are subjected to different laws or treatment compared with private or state sector companies, and we particularly looked at restrictions on the client’s ability to practice within its chosen area of specialisation. We also gave an overview of how employment contracts in the NGO’s domicile would be treated by local courts in each country.
